Nils Vanwassenhove

Nils Vanwassenhove is a Belgian national and is the Head of the Supply Chain Development unit in the World Food Programme (WFP). The Supply Chain Development unit (OSCD) is WFP’s corporate supply chain research and innovation unit. By bringing together best practices from humanitarian field, academia, private sector and government partners, OSCD works across WFP corporate functions and levels to develop and implement solutions that increase supply chain efficiency and effectiveness. Nils has worked in WFP for the last four years on corporate innovations. Previously, during 10 years working in supply chain management consulting, Nils has gained experience in the following areas of expertise: SC management, strategy, organizational design, process & systems engineering, innovation & continuous improvement, people development, and change management. This knowledge is coupled with industry experience in social impact, logistics services, chemical, and semi-conductors sectors. Nils graduated as a Management Engineer with an MBA from INSEAD in 2012. He is currently based in WFP Headquarters in Rome (Italy).
